Loving Hands has prepared the ideal birth preparation course designed to meet the needs of all families that want to be prepared for birth. This course covers the many facets of birthing, with an emphasis on non medical comfort measures, optimal positioning, and what to expect throughout the stages of labor. Wether birthing in a hospital facility, or having a homebirth; birth education prepares the family for the upcoming event, and helps to create an atmosphere of certainty and confidence both within the mother and her chosen birth partner. The birth partner will learn about specific techniques that will guide the mother into a more comfortable and relaxed experience and stabilize the trust needed for the mother to birth her child. Learning about the physiological, emotional, and mental changes you will experience in birth, gives the family the strength, confidence, and knowledge necessary to have a more empowering experience.

The birth preparation course is broken into three classes that take place throughout your pregnancy. Each session will take place within the comfort and safety of your own home, where we will spend three hours for each class teaching you the positioning techniques that will ease your labor experience. In addition to positioning techniques and comfort measures to ease labor, we will touch on many topics ranging from navigating the maternity care system, how to create a birth plan, the fundamentals of breastfeeding, and skills to mange the early postpartum period.

Birth education is the perfect way to prepare for the many changes you and your family will share together. Preparation is key to a successful birth and learning the fundamentals of birthing will give you the confidence needed to birth your baby.
