Meet Jenny

Jenny Spangenberg, is a Certified Labor Doula CLD, a Certified Postpartum Doula CPD, and a Certified Lactation Support & Educator CLSE.

Jenny currently serves the birthing and parenting communities on the Big Island of Hawaii. Jenny has served families in the United States since 2001, educating families about the realities that surround birthing. Her mission as a birth worker is to help women and families walk into their childbirth experience being empowered and educated.

Jenny supports families with the choices they make through an evidence-based birth model of care. Jenny has taken advanced training courses from Evidence Based Birth® on how to help families get evidence based care, as well as official continuing education courses from Evidence Based Birth® on various topics that surround the current maternity care model. She believes it is what families need as they begin their parenting journey beginning with birth, confidently and trauma free.

Jenny has extensive experience with presenting to adult audiences; she regularly presents to both expecting parents in her full spectrum doula practice and also to birth professionals on childbirth research, maternal rights, and she educates her community extensively on vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). She teaches privately to expecting couples where she has tailored specific curriculum to suit the needs of her clients.

Jenny has taken certified courses in Non-Violent communication and uses her knowledge to create healthy and positive inter-professional relationships within the professional birthing community in Hawaii. Jenny has excellent evaluation results from her clients and continues to strive and serve growing families with an educated and nurturing approach to birth.
